Have you been diagnosed with Lymphoma?
My ENT is sending me for a CT Scan (of the neck) and a possible biopsy of my throat. What I thought was a "double chin" seems to be a golf ball size (moveable) cyst, and my lympth nodes are swollen. Were you suprised by your diagnosis? I've read all the symptoms online … I have none. I went to the ENT because I am having re-curring bouts of vertigo (for the first time in my life), and THIS is what I've got on my plate now. I'd love to hear your stories! Thanks for sharing! <3
Lymphoma is just one of several possibilities for what feels like a cyst. Some of these are benign, like a thyroglossal duct cyst or involvement of a salivary gland. Don't rush to a diagnosis of lymphoma or anything else until the CT scan is interpreted. A subsequent tissue biopsy might be needed for a certain diagnosis of lymphoma or anything else. Hold on; it could be a much less worrisome and benign cyst.
Your in my prayers dear. And hope all will work out for you. But prayers are beaning said over you my dear. Keep us posted please about you. From someone who cares !!!!
I was diagnosed with Stage 4B NS Hodgkin's Lymphoma at the beginning of this year. I had no palpable swollen lymph nodes, thus why I had such a late staging. I started having "Classical" Hodgkin's B symptoms at the beginning of last year; night sweats, itchy skin, and a low grade fever. I developed a cough in April of 07 and started worrying about it in June of 07 when I started couging up blood. The cancer had spread to my lung.
After months of misdiagnosis, a CT scan showed nodules in my lungs and lesions in the bone marrow of my spine. Literally, the marrow in a few of my vertebra was GONE. I went through a bronchoscopy that came back negative, the tissue wasn't harvested deep enough. A spine marrow biopsy that came back negative and finally a thoracotomy that came back positive for Hodgkin's Lymphoma.
I was surprised in a way…I mean, the number one sign of lymphoma is swollen nodes…the fact that I didn't have any, was surprising. But after later research, it's not all that uncommon. My internal nodes were swollen, but nothing I could feel. But in the other sense, I DID have all the symptoms. None of the doctors put that together until after my diagnosis.
