My uncle found out he has liver cancer, He has been an on and off Alcoholic for most of his life he is now in?
his 50's. All I know so far is they saw a spot on his liver originally and now they know its cancer. How diar is this news? My mom had breast cancer and made it through after cemo and radiation, and my dad had kidney cancer and was fine after they took out the kidney. But I have heard Liver cancer is more fatal? Any advise would help.
It doesn't look good. If he's been abstinent from booze for a while, I suppose there is the possibility that doctors would consider a transplant. He will have to have been abstinent for 6 months to a year, depending on which state he's in. Good luck…
Well look im not going to lie, but Liver cancer is not a good thing.
The chances he will live…im sad to say, are probably not that great.
Breast cancer, and kidney cancer are both treated easier, and have better success rates.
you can't function with a bad liver…you can without 1 kidney.
know what I mean?
Actually it depends on the case, my sister had a cancer on her uterus and reaches the third stage, the disease spread up to her lungs, but giid thing she survived on the chemotherapy, ask your uncles doctor, he knows it.
hey katrina
my great grandma recently died of similar cancer
but then again she was 94
i think you should be concerned for your uncle but not awaiting his death or anything drastic
further news from the doctors will give you closure
all the best xx
My brother had liver cancer and he had it burned. he is doing quite well. You can check out American Liver foundation. Here is the link:http://www.liverfoundation.org/
This is really bad news, as there's no "cure" for cancer of the liver. He's going to turn yellow, then orange; it's not good. Sorry.
