Smokers, please answer this question:?
The price of a pack of 20 cigarettes is $9-$10 in Australia, and most of that is tax. If you are still smoking, at what price per pack would you quit simply for financial(not health) reasons? $20? $30? $40?
I quit for financial reasons when cigarettes could be had for about $2 a pack. I used to smoke two packs a day. The first year, I saved enough cigarette money to go to Hawaii for a week.
I quit partially for financial reasons (in the UK) nearly four years ago now. The cost in the UK is over £5 for a pack of 20. I think that's roughly comparable to Australia.(£5 is just over $10).
I told myself i would never pay more than £4 for a pack of fags and they are hitting the £6 mark in England now.
If you want to smoke you will make yourself afford it no matter how much they are. Silly huh?!
probably only when cigarettes are banned and maybe not even then
Until the day I can't afford them anymore. When that day comes, I'll learn how to grow my own.
