  1. It sounds like you might be a little over weight. Go to a doctor and see if he can help you pick out a good exercise and eating plan.

I am not a doctor. It is important to go to a doctor and he can let you know if your exercise/diet plan is right for you. Remember, you are 13, you are still growing and your body is still developing. You don't want to do something that will hurt you later on. Here is what I suggest.

Buy the book, "Body for Life" by Bill Phillips. He lays out an exercise and eating plan for you. Your diet and exercise are both important when you are losing weight or just trying to stay healthy. In his plan, you eat a certain portion of food, 6 times a day. That sounds like a lot, but it isn't. You work out 6 days a week. You actually get ONE FREE DAY a week. You can eat anything you want and you don't have to exercise on that day.

For eating, he gives you a chart to help plan your daily meals. He makes it very simple for you to set goals.

For exercising, you do weight-lifting exercises 3 days a week and aerobic-type exercises 3 days a week. He gives you a chart and shows you the different types of exercises to do that help the different areas of your body. You don't have to do all the exercises In your weightlifting exercise chart, you put in your choice of the exercise you want to do that affects each part of your body. All of these exercises do not require lifting weights. These exercises are for strengthening and improving your resistance. You can buy small weights for some of the exercises. You will see what I am talking about when you get the book. This part of the exercising is very important because you are strengthening your muscles and the more muscles you have, the more calories you will burn. :)

As for the aerobic-type exercises, you will want to exercise your heart for at least 20 minutes each time. As you get stronger, you will be able to exercise longer.

Well, this is what I recommend. It looks like you are on a good start. Get this book and follow the guidelines. You will probably find some of the mistakes you are making. Sometimes changing one little thing can make all the difference.

    Good luck! :)

  2. A healthy weight for someone of your height is between 105 and 155 pounds. So you're perfect.
Not to mention you're still growing, so your body needs the extra weight for energy.
Eat healthy, get your exercise, and don't worry! You're young. Enjoy these years while you can!

  3. don't listen to that person that said "it sounds like you are overweight". you aren't at all. you are in the healthy range according to a body mass index calculator. you're great!

  4. I you really are 5'7'' you are perfectly fine

  5. your not fat your perfect just exersise and you wont feel fat

  6. You're fine! Don't worry about it- you are NOT fat.

  7. u arent fat, just a tad overweight for 13…

people are saying that 143 pounds is fine, and in fact it is the ideal weight of a person who is 5'7 and im trying to get to 143 as well actually.

keep in mind the most important thing to remember when it comes to your weight isnt your weight.

nope, your weight is just a number, thing you should ask is "its 143 pounds of what?"

(i was 145 pounds at one point in my diet from 200 pounds.. i lost almost all of my muscle and my bodyfat ws still over 25%, at 145 pounds!!)

    im fixing my mistake now,
    thing is,
    1. bmi is outdated, only thing that can calculate if you are fat is your bodyfat %, as bodybuilders get bmi's in the "obese" range
    2. again, 143 is ideal, for an adult. you are only thirteen and have yet to develop the natural body development of regular adults. that will take you into the "overweight" range

but both ways, you arent fat, just a bit overweight.

do a diet/eat healthy for 2 weeks to a month, then just be more active, and you'll be fine

run around, jog, or my personal favourite, crank that ipod and dance around.. its just as good as jogging.

also just use some bodyweight exercises,

    10 pushups
    10 situps

every morning and every night, when this gets easy, just add to it if you want, this will tone you up and make you more fit and "tight" looking, excuse the term.

i wouldnt change you're food much, just be more aware of what you throw down your throat.

just develop your lifestyle as you go and goodluck

P.S. just trust me when i say this cause i know what im talking about, im 17, used to weigh a bit over 200 pounds, and as of this moment im sitting at 149 pounds with a 15% bodyfat. granted im a guy, but i know your body and i know what you're going through cause i was there. the science still applies regardless of gender.

looking fine, just wasnt enough for me.. i wanted to look good.
