I drink a bag of 2% milk a day, and I stopped eating meats all together. What effects will this have on me?
Is this good for me? or bad for me? What's going to happen to me?
well not eating meat will cut down on your protein intake so you have to start eating protein bars or finding other way to get it into your diet
a whole bag of milk a day is bad for you, no matter if it's skim milk or whole milk. people in america especially tend to overdose on dairy products, when in reality you are only supposed to have a small dose everyday.
milk is one of the largest contributions to food induced ill health in north america. that may seem like a harsh statement, but scientific evidence proves this fact. the recent approval by the FDA of the use of the bovine growth hormone by dairy farmers to increase their milk production only worsens the already sad picture.
cow's milk is the number one allergic food in this country. It has been documented to cause diarrhea, cramps, bloating, gas, gastrointestinal bleeding, iron-deficiency anemia, skin rashes, atherosclerosis, and acne.
whole milk, or anything made of whole milk, is high in saturated fat, which will increase cholesterol levels. adults especially lack the enzyme to digest lactose (lactose intolerance).
milk (and also meat) contains the antibiotics given to the animal before slaughter. when we eat the dairy or meat products, we absorb the antibiotics into our bodies, potentially allowing for bad bacteria to become more resistant to these antibiotics. the consequence is that when antibiotics are prescribed, they may not be as effective at killing the bacteria as they once were.
all in all, a glass of milk a day is more than enough. a lot of people dislike it in the beginning, but soy milk is a much healthier alternative. unlike cow milk, it comes from a bean.
soy milk is high in protein and fiber, but the biggest benefit is said to be the “isoflavones”. isoflavones are similar to the hormone estrogen and are beneficial in preventing some cancers and osteoporosis. if that doesn’t sound like enough, although soy milk is not a good source for calcium, it is high in vitamins B1, B2, B6 and E.
on top of everything milk is very fatty! but if soy milk is still not your cup of tea, just cut down on cow milk
avoiding meat is good. but drinking a whole bag of 2%? Wow. Cut back a little.
Your protein intake will be significantly less, you'll lose some muscle mass.
You won't have to worry about keeping kosher
