Quitting smoking cut the risk, with former smokers seeing a 23 percent higher risk than nonsmokers, far lower than the risk for current smokers

  1. it is not a risk factor for developing diabetes.

    it is a huge risk factor for heart disease, heart attack, stroke. diabetes is also a risk factor for these things.

  2. Yes, there is!!!! I am speaking from personal experience and an example of smoking leading to becoming a diabetic.

  5. There is no connection at this time. In fact there is no real evidence that cigarette smoking causes anything. Yes, it aggravates a lot of conditions, but does not cause any of them.
