Exercise is important for health. But when the body feels unwell, have we to exercise? According to Edward R. Laskowski, MD, physical medicine and Rehabilitation specialist’s mayo clinic, exercise actually recommended for people who are sick, depending on the type of the diseases.
For those who fell ill of flu, it is advisable to exercise because one of the benefits of sports is relieve a bunged up nose. Exercise will also give effect relax and improve immunity of the body. However, when symptoms of flu with fever, you should not exercise.
Before deciding to exercise when you are sick, read the following guidelines:
- You can do exercise when symptoms suffered only pain felt in the top neck, such as nasal congestion, runny nose, sneezing, or sore throat. However, you have to reduce the intensity of the exercise of the usual.
- Hold your desire to exercise if the symptoms of illness attack the neck down, for example, chest pain, and weight cough or stomach-aches. In addition, do not exercises when the body is fever, feel fatigue, or muscle pain.
- If you still want to exercise when sick, look the body alarm. If signs and symptoms of the disease are getting worse during an exercise activity, stop immediately and take a rest. Increase the intensity of exercise again when you already feel healthy.
- For certain diseases, such as asthma, you have to consult with your doctor what type of physical activity that may be done.
